Each Saint John Catholic School Family agrees to participate in fundraising
activities for the school at the time of registration. Participation can be in
the form of monetary donations of at least $150 or in fundraising activities
that yield a minimum of $150 for the school. Our two major fundraisers are the
Annual Auction and the
Annual Fund. You may complete and
print our donation form here and return it to the school with your donation.
You may download and print or email our
corporate sponsor letter
here.
Our top goals for the money raised are:
Curriculum enhancement
We would like to be able to expand the Foreign Language curriculum, as well as
hire a Media Center / Technology Director
The computers and software used in the school are in constant need of updating,
due to obsolescence and security issues
Capital improvements
The school building is in need of new windows (Due to the cost, around $65,000 - 85,000,
this is a long term project that requires us to save money in a fund designated
for this purpose)
Annual Auction
Mark your calendars -- our Annual Auction will be held March
7,
2009 at the Blackbaud Atrium. See what last year's auction was
like on our 2007-2008 Auction page.
We ask each SJCS family to procure at least three
items worth a minimum of $25 each for the auction, as well as
help supply soft drinks and bottled water for the event.
Donated items can be solicited from businesses in order to meet
this obligation. Thanks for your
help making this major fundraiser a success each year - we
couldn't do it without each and every family!

Teach About Giving - "TAG" Days |
|

|
We will be having a $1 Tag Day the first Thursday of every month (see the
school calendar for exceptions). In order to
participate in these no-uniform days, your child must bring $1
to his or her teacher the Wednesday before the actual date. The
proceeds from Tag Days go to charity.
This year, we have adopted HECTOR ROLANDO GUERRA as a new
Prayer Partner. He was born 3/30/98 in El Carrizal,
Honduras.
Each month we will have a tag day to raise $30 to send
to Hector. There is also a jar in the main hallway for
contributions, which are accepted at any time. |
| The Christian Foundation for Children
and Aging is the Association that sponsors clients like him.
Hector is now attending the Jose Trinidad Cababnas School. His
favorite subject is Natural Studies, he speaks only Spanish and
he loves to play football. His job at home is to carry firewood.
Thank God, Hector is in good health. His mother's name is Alba
Luz Melgar, she is a housekeeper and was born in 1979. His
father is dead and we have no information on him. Hector has 1
brother, Juan Pablo Reins, born in 1994 and 1 sister, Maria
Luisa Melgar, born 2001. Hector's family income is $15.00
monthly. However the money is seasonal! He lives in a mud hut
with tile roof and dirt floors. He sleeps in a wooden bed. There
are 7 people living under the roof. We are glad to be able to
help him. |
