Testimonials & Excerpts from Parent Letters (names have been removed):
"Our son ... attended your wonderful school last year. This year he attended Bishop England. Last week he received an academic award for Research and Study Skills. He is in the AII program and his grades range from low 80's to low 90's. Thank you for helping to prepare him for high school." - Parents of a 2013 8th grade graduate
"The environment at St. John is what a Catholic school should have. We know that children must grow into adults, but wish that our granddaughter had more years to spend at St. John. She changed from a frightened child with no confidence to a well adjusted young lady. Words cannot express the way we have come to feel about the school. From academics to spirituality, St. John provides all of the right ingredients. The school is a hidden gem in the Diocese of Charleston. It should be the model for the entire state." - Grandparents of a recent SJCS graduate
“This is a school that truly puts the needs of the child FIRST, and common sense prevails. If your child needs it, the faculty will make it happen. Both our children are performing above grade level after being at SJCS for a few years.” - Parents of two at SJCS
“At (my son's) previous school, he cried on the way to and from school weekly. He was a victim of ridicule and bullying quite a few times - which caused enormous anxiety. In my last meeting with his teachers...I was told that (he) was unable to learn in a normal classroom setting. He has thrived (here at SJCS). Words cannot begin to express what this year has meant to us.” - Parent at SJCS
“You all have exceeded my expectations in what you have provided for (our son). All the staff is understanding, flexible, positive and compassionate." - Parent at SJCS
"In the five years that (our son) has been at St. John, he has gone from a little boy with a great deal of anxiety and little self confidence, to a young man ready and eager to go on to the next phase in his life. It is no coincidence how (he) came to this point. I have no doubt in my mind this change was made, first, but the grace of God and secondly by the loving patience and skill of all his teachers. (He) and all the graduating class will leave here today with the values and education that I hope will last them a lifetime and take them far into the future." - Parents of a recent SJCS Graduate

We are aware that some children have been diagnosed with special needs. It is the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) responsibility to provide documentation and information to the Principal, prior to enrollment, regarding personal conditions which may require special services by the school. In these cases, each situation will be evaluated in accordance with these two criteria: the educational standards of the school, and the school's ability to provide the service. Admission is open first to students presently enrolled and then to new students.
We are, like all schools in the Diocese of Charleston, accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
